Robert L. Cushner, 87, Pomeroy, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center.

Bob was born on April 3, 1922, in Bristol, Conn., to the late John A. and Alma Giguere Cushner. Bob served as a pilot in U.S. Navy and later U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a salesman and later sales manager with Wallace Barnes/Associated Spring in Bristol and Dayton. He retired as a sales rep from the Wallace Barnes Steel Division.

Bob enjoyed golf and was a long-time member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1010.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Pauline (Eddy) Cushner and Pearl (Hawk) Cushner and his brother, John W. Cushner.

Bob is survived by his sister, Marguerite Kondziolka of Bristol; his daughters and their spouses: Ellen (Jim) Knickle of Kettering and Paula Cushner and Steve Callahan of Weymouth Mass.; stepsons, Jack (Paula) Welker of Pomeroy, Joe (Sharon) Welker of Auberry, Calif., and Jerry (Kim) Welker of Fresno Calif.; his sister-in-law, Sara Cullums and brother-in-law Robert (Ramona) Hawk; his nieces, Judy (Roger) Reese and Sally Kondziolka. seven grandchildren: Ellen and Daniel Callahan, Kristen (David) Pologruto, Joshua (Stephanie) Douglass, Brian (Lisa) Knickle, Brad (Lauren) Knickle and Brett (Shelley) Knickle; six great-grandchildren: Emily, Kate, Evan, Reid, Reese and Perrey; his 11 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home, Pomeroy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Pomeroy.

Friends may also call Monday at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel, Dayton, where a prayer service will be followed by entombment at David’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Kettering.
