Ancill Juanita Van Matre, 95, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. She was born on February 13, 1927, to the late Emmitt and Bertha Manley in Middleport, Ohio. Ancill was a proud member of the 1st Baptist Church in Middleport, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky L. Russell; son, Rick (Kathy) Van Matre; grandchildren, Angie Russell, Ray Russell, and Andrew (Ashley) Van Matre; great-grandchildren, Kyle Russell, Morgan (Chris) Young, Shana Roush, and Carmella Russell; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Novaleigh, Nash, and River; sister, Corrine Ambrose; and several nieces and nephews.
Ancill was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Van Matre; siblings, Midgie, Audrey (Herman), Barney, and Clifford (Rosanna); nephew, Tony Manley; niece, Janet Cleland; granddaughter, Whitney; and son-in-law, Short Russell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:00pm at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, Ohio with Pastor Billy Zuspan officiating. Burial services will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire, Ohio. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
