Billie June Cartwright Hayes, 90, of New Haven, WV went to be with Jesus on October 23, 2022 at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport, Ohio. She was born on August 16, 1932 in New Haven, WV to the late Kathoreen "Kitty" Ord Cartwright and the late William "Bill" Cartwright.
Billie June was a 1950 graduate of Wahama High School. She was a former New Haven Town Council member, and retired from Lakin State Hospital as a nurse's aide. After retirement, Billie June continued her calling by providing in-home care to many elderly in the community.
She is survived by her children Dreami Knight of Columbus, Ohio, Chetti (Randy) Smith of Carleton, Michigan, Bob (Wanda) Hayes of Watkinsville, Georgia, Lisa (Rick) Barnitz of Mason, and Jack (Catherine) Hayes of Louisville, Kentucky.
In addition to her children, she is survived by 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Billie June was preceded in death by both her parents, sister Ruth Ann Love, brother Jack Cartwright, and son-in-law Gerald Knight.
Billie June will be missed and best remembered for her endless encouragement, generous hugs, and countless "I love yous."
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Overbrook staff for their love and care for Billie June over the past 3 years.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1:00pm at Northbend Church, Mason, WV. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northbend Church Community Impact fund (500 Adamsville Rd, Mason WV 25260).
