Brentten Ashton Young, age 26, of Mason, WV, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 10th. He was born on September 23, 1999, in Point Pleasant, WV. Brentten was the son of Bradley (Christy) Young and Stephanie (Bruce) Swift.
Brentten was a graduate of Meigs High School and later furthered his education in the fire service, obtaining certifications and attending several training courses. While pursuing his education in the fire service, he became an apprentice in Local 80 of the Insulators Union, where he proudly advanced to general foreman at the Gavin Power Plant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #2171, Meigs County Bikers Association, and an Entered Apprentice at the Middleport Masonic Lodge #363. He took pride in his work ethic, craftsmanship, helping others, serving his community, and providing for his family, and was known by colleagues and friends as someone who could always be counted on and who would make anyone smile.
Above all else, Brentten cherished family, friends, and his dog Cooper. He found joy in being surrounded by loved ones and had a special way of making people feel seen, supported, and loved. His many interests and hobbies brought happiness and meaning to life, creating lasting memories that will continue to bring comfort and connection.
Brentten is survived by his grandmother, Linda Acree, and His Brothers, Bradley Young II (Hannah) Young, Benjamin, and Brayden (Tori) Young. Uncles David (Beth) Acree, John (Emily) Acree, Victor III (Katherine) Young, and Godmother Leanna Newsome. Nieces and nephews, Kohen, Aubrielle, and Renlee, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, David Acree, Victor Young II, and Mary Kay Young.
Services will be held at Anderson’s McDaniel on Friday, January 16, at 0400-0800pm for the viewing and funeral on January 17 at 1100-0100pm, located in Pomeroy, Ohio.
Brentten: Goose, B, Unit 26, and many other nicknames will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
