Charles D. Wilson

   Charles David Wilson of Gallipolis, formerly of Middleport, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at his residence.   He was born on February 27, 1938 to the late H.A and Rachel Wilson.   He worked and retired as a riverboat Captain for over 50 years.    He was also a Past Master of Pomeroy Lodge #164, Past Master of Pomeroy-Racine Lodge #164, Past Master of Harrisonville Lodge #411, Allied Masonic Degrees, Knight of the York Cross of Honor, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason Valley of Columbus, Valley of Cambridge and Valley of Gallipolis, Meritorious Service Award Recipient from the Valley of Gallipolis , Pomeroy Chapter #80 Royal Arch Masons, Bosworth Council #46 Royal and Select Masons,  Ohio Valley Commandery #24, York Rite College and a member of the Knight Masons. 

   He is survived by his son, Charles "Eddie" Wilson; sister Ida Mae Martin, Rachel Craig and Cora Lee; special cousin Betty Lou Wolfe and several nieces and nephews.  

   He preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Yvonne Wilson; brothers, Paul and Carl Wilson and a sister Bert Wilson

   Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00am at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor James Williams officiating.    Burial will follow at the Meigs Memory Gardens.   Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 6-8:00pm at the funeral home with Masonic services starting at 8:00pm  

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with the expense.
