Dannie Harbour Obituary

Dannie Ray Harbour, 81, of New Haven, WV, entered into Heaven on July 17, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1945, in Mason, WV, and was the son of the late JoAnn and Stanley Harbour, and the grandson of the late Matilda Noble, with whom he had a special bond.

He was graduated from Wahama High School with the class of 1963, and earned his welding certification from Hobart in Troy, OH. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in November 1965 and served his country until 1968 as a Lance Corporal. He was a combat veteran in the Vietnam War. While serving his country, he earned his electrician’s certificate. He retired as an electrician in 2010 from Century Aluminum after working many years at Foote Mineral/American Alloys.

Dannie married Dianna Miller on February 21, 1966, in New Haven, WV, and they celebrated 60 wonderful years together.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianna; his three children, Wendy (Jerry) Mullins of Fayetteville, OH, Michael (Bobbi) Harbour of Pomeroy, and Mitchell (Jessica) Harbour of Point Pleasant; his five grandchildren: Olivia (Jay) VanDerKooi, Aurora Mullins (Brandon VanWinkle), Garrett Harbour, Ryan Harbour, and Emma Harbour; and one great-grandchild Jaylyn VanDerKooi ; siblings Connie Harbour and Mike Harbour; sister- and brother-in-law Mandy and Greg Blessing; cousins Sue Allen, Sally Elmer, Violet Henry, Judy Straight; and several nieces and nephews.

Dannie loved tending to his garden, going fishing, and traveling. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all of their extracurricular activities. He had a thrill for riding roller coasters and riding the waves at the beach. He also enjoyed banana icees from SnoBiz, and a good chocolate cone from Dairy Queen, or a milkshake from McClure’s.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Disabled Veterans of America (DAV) or the Wounded Warrior Project.
