Edward "Mike" Martin

Edward Michael (Mike) Martin, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Chester Ohio on April 6, 2026. 

Mike was born in Pomeroy Ohio, where he went to school and grew up. He owned a store on Main Street; Martins Furniture and More. He was a school board member of Eastern Local for eight years and helped oversee the construction of the consolidated school system. Mike volunteered his time coaching baseball and softball, and donated his time as a licensed auctioneer for local benefits. Mike enjoyed collecting antiques, fishing, playing cards, going to church, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. He took extra care of his lawn, working in his flower beds and garden. Mike loved decorating his home for Christmas, including a yard full of lights for all to enjoy.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Chris; a daughter, Angie (Joe) Weeks, and a son, Vince (Bria) Martin, and his four grandsons, Rylan, Hunter, Lucas, and Noah; siblings Madolyn (Bruce) Sandifer, Al Junior (Elsie) Martin, and Suzanne Kibble; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eileen Martin, his brother Ronnie (Maxine) Martin, and two infant brothers.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 4-6:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy
