Harold Ray “Doozie” Stewart, 82, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. Born on July 2, 1943, Harold lived a life rooted in family, faith, and community.
Doozie was well known for his dedication to the youth of his community, having coached girls’ youth softball for many years. He took great pride in mentoring young athletes, teaching them not only the fundamentals of the game but also the values of teamwork and perseverance.
A devoted sports fan, Doozie faithfully cheered on the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Whether watching a game at home or talking sports with friends, his enthusiasm was unmistakable.
Doozie shared 58 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susie Stewart. Together they built a life centered on faith and family, creating countless cherished memories.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Stewart; his children, Kimberly (John) Sanders, Kelly (Steve) Massie; his grandchildren, Charlie (Devan) Barrett, McKayla (Mathew) O’Brien, Whyatt Mannon, Austin Mannon, Charla (Chris) Snouffer and Primo, Sophia, GiGi, Carlo and Santino Avarion; and his great-grandchildren, Haddie, Lilly, Charlie, and Corie.
He is also survived by his brother- and sister-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Radford; Sally and Dan Jasman; several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Richard and Marlene Radford; and his brothers, Lawrence, Richard, Ralph, and Hubert and sister Millie.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pomeroy. Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Holzer Hospice.
Harold will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of sports, and most of all, his deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
