Howard Delmar "Hoppy" Larkins was born October 6, 1932 in Long
Bottom Ohio at Mt. Olive. He passed away on August 21, 2023 peacefully at home. He was the son of the late Fred E. Larkins and Ruth Branch Larkins.
Hoppy was a United States Army veteran and was member of the Ohio Operating Engineers for over 50 years. He was an avid Southern
basketball fan for many years. Most of all, he loved spending time
with his family and cooking for them.
Howard is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Baylor and her husband Neil; son, Brent Larkins; granddaughter, Brianne Perry and her husband Todd; 3 great granddaughters; Jaden and Jillian Proffitt and Josie Perry; a great great-grandson, Grayson Shawn Michael Proffitt; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Ward Larkins; daughter, Pamela Ballard; grandsons, Jamie and Chris Proffitt; sisters, Donna Bogard and Vera Weber; and brother, Raymond Larkins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 12:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens. Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.
