James "Jim" Snyder

James E. “Jim” Snyder, 82, passed away on September 24, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1944, the son of the late Ernest and Lucille Snyder.

Jim retired from AEP after 39 years of dedicated service in roving maintenance. He was a member of the Middleport Church of Christ and enjoyed golfing.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marie Snyder; his children, Melissa Mullins, James (Helen) Snyder Jr., and Joe (Heather) Snyder; grandchildren, Tabitha (Rusty) King, Merissa (Thomas) Dowell, Whitley Snyder, and Wyatt Snyder; great-grandchildren, Paige, Joshua, Dalton, and Caleb; siblings, Charles (Ruth) Snyder, Wanda (Steve) Barrett, and Jerry Snyder; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Larry Parsons.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Watson ; his brother, Carl Dean Snyder; and grandchildren, Joshua and Caitlin.

A graveside service for Jim will be held at a later date.

Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His many years of hard work, his love for his family, and the friendships he made throughout his life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 a 11:00am at Riverview Cemetery in Middleport followed by a celebration of life at 12:00pm at the Middleport Church of Christ.
