Janice Kay Grimm

Janice Kay Grimm, 74, passed away on August 19, 2026 into the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She was born on November 16, 1951, the daughter of the late Raymond and Lydia Smith.

Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Steve Grimm.

She is also survived by her children, Brian Grimm, Jeremy Grimm, Israel (Leigh Ann) Grimm, Heather (Grover) Kelley, and Veronica (Jesse) Rivers; and her grandchildren, Ashley Grimm (Ian Schank), Savannah Barnes, Lydia Grimm, Ethan Grimm, Grayden Kelley, Ella Grimm and Poppy Rivers, with Baby Rivers on the way.

Janice is also survived by her sister, Debra (Archie) Rose; sister-in-law, Carmella Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Raymond Smith, as well as several aunts and uncles.

She was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved Jesus and serving in her church.

Janice worked as a hairdresser for 56 years. The last 26 years she spent at  Shear Illusions, where her warm personality and love of people allowed her to form many lasting friendships.

Janice had a special love for flowers and gardening and enjoyed music and singing. Above all, she loved people and treasured time spent with her family playing games and laughing. One of her greatest joys was attending sporting events and activities to support her grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and the memories she created with them will be cherished for years to come.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 5-8:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Rutland Independent Holiness Church.  There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.    Burial will follow at the Meigs Memory Gardens in Pomeroy.
