Joan Kay (Currey) Weyand of Long Bottom, Ohio: On June 27th ,2024 Joan (Jo) lost her long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Born in Charleston to Marple and Wilma Currey Dec. 22, 1947. She had 4 siblings including Harriet Ann (Ben) Burford, Donna Currey, Rick (Eugenia) Currey, and Patty Hayes.
She was preceded in death by Her father, mother, and sister Harriet Ann. She is survived by her husband Steve, daughters Tonya (Kevin)Williams, Kelly (Kevin) Carleton, granddaughter Lauren (DiJaun) Robinson, grandsons Liam, and Owen Carleton, and her pride great-grandchildren Aurora and Aubrey Robinson.
After two years of trade school Jo landed a job with Xerox where she retired after 30 yrs. During her time at Xerox, she went to Rochester where She and Steve met up, and spent the next 33 yrs. Together.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11:00am at the First Southern Baptist Church in Pomeroy with Pastors Jim Messenger and Josh Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanderhoof Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 6-8:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
