Joyce “Granny” Perkins

Joyce Anita Perkins, 84, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born May 8, 1942, in Matewan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Albert and Cassandra “Cora” Wolford Perkins.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, planting flowers, and, most of all, making those around her laugh. Her sense of humor and love for her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Penny A. Causby (Rose); son, Gary G. Rose; great-grandson, Levi James; brothers, Albert “Perk” Perkins, Bobby Joe Perkins, and Ernest Perkins; and sisters, Loretta May, Phyllis Gannon, Dimple Francis Dumbo, Ann “Murl” Blevins, and Lois “Freddy” Runyon.

Joyce is survived by her son, Freddy Perkins of Williamson, West Virginia; daughters, Robin (Ron) Logsdon of Toledo, Ohio, Lois (Paul) Hendrix of Middleport, Ohio, Joyce (Daymond) Wolfe of Middleport, Ohio, Eva Crabtree of Harrisonville, Ohio, and Vanessa Blevins Miller of Middleport, Ohio.

She is also survived by her brother, Billy Perkins of Williamson, West Virginia; sisters, Pastor Helen (Staton) Wolfe of Huntington, West Virginia, and Cora Perkins of Williamson, West Virginia; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends, including her special friend, Hope Sorrell.

Joyce will be remembered for the laughter she brought into the lives of others, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the love she shared with her large and cherished family. Her memory will live on through the many generations of family who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.  Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service (11-1:00pm).
