Karen June Phalin

Karen June Phalin, 65 of Pomeroy, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2025.

Karen was born on January 3, 1960 in Covington KY to Esther DeMoss of Middleport and the late Richard DeMoss.

Karen loved her family and has been married to her husband Doug for 47 years. They share two children Josh (April) Phalin of Dallas NC and Christy (Jay) Fisher of Middleport. She has five grandchildren Bryleigh, Gage, Graceson, Matthew, Hunter.

She also is survived by her mother Esther DeMoss, of Middleport; three sisters and two brothers who survive her, Kathy Fife of Middleport, Kim (Eddie) Fife of Pomeroy, Karla (Terry) Roush of Arcadia Florida, Richard (Sis) Demoss of Langsville and Marty of Middleport.

Karen was a member of the New Hope Nazarene Church in Middleport. When she wasn’t at a church function or spending time with her family, she was an avid reader and loved spending time with her dog Bella.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Richard DeMoss, two unborn grandsons, and many other family members and friends.

Funeral Services will take place at 3:00 PM, on October 30, 2025  at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Carleton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM  on Thursday October 30th.
