Kathryn Frasure, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1950, at Beaver Valley Hospital in Martin, Kentucky, to Famer and Kizzie Halbert.
Throughout her life, Kathryn was a dedicated school bus driver and nursing aide for Floyd County, touching the lives of many in her community with her caring nature and gentle spirit.
Kathryn was a woman of deep faith and often embraced the sentiment, “Cry when they are born, rejoice when they die. To everything, there is a season.” Her unwavering belief in the cyclical nature of life shaped her view of both joy and sorrow, and she faced each season with grace.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Deanie Frasure, her sons Todd Rodney and Bobby Joe Gayheart, her parents Famer and Kizzie Halbert, her brothers Reggie and Famer Halbert, and her grandchildren Jacob and Bobby Joe Jr. Gayheart.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Teresa, along with her cherished grandchildren: Marissa, Caleb, and Evan Hall; Shawn, Todd, Kevin, and Kathryn Gayheart. She is also survived by her siblings: Chaddie, Penny, Denny, Keith and Luke. Kathryn was blessed with nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and who will carry her memory forward.
Kathryn's kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at her family home on March 16th at 12:00 PM. We invite all who were touched by Kathryn's life to join in honoring her legacy.
