Larry Eakins

Larry Eakins, lovingly known as "Hard Knox," passed away at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and plenty of unforgettable stories.

Though Larry never had children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own — and when they had children, he proudly stepped into the role of "Grandpa," treating each one with deep affection and pride.

Born into a bustling family with six brothers and four sisters, Larry learned early the value of loyalty, laughter, and the occasional well-placed wrestling move. His passion for old cars and professional wrestling was well-known, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite wrestlers with the enthusiasm only he could bring.

Larry cared for his home like it was his castle — and everyone who knew him knew better than to step on his grass,  well drive! His pride in his home, his family, and his life was clear to all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents several brothers and sister Regina Eakins.

He is survived by his devoted sisters, Norma and Charlotte, along with numerous grandchildren by heart — all of whom will carry forward his spirit of resilience, humor, and fierce love.

Larry “Hard Knox” Eakins will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his endless generosity, and his unwavering commitment to family. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the stories that will be told for generations to come.

He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.   Burial will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery.   Visitation for family and friends will be held two hours prior to the funeral service (11:00am-1:00pm).
