Lena Napper, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior with her twin daughters holding her hands, on March 27, 2026. She was born on March 24, 1942 to the late Walter and Margaret (Spearhaus) Hysell.
Lena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose life was centered around her faith and family. She found great joy in simple pleasures—sitting on her front porch, taking in the Riverview, working crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite game shows. Her warm spirit and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, David; and two brothers, Jim, John and Jackie Hysell.
Lena is survived by her loving daughters, Julie Stanley (Steve), Beverly Russell (Tim), Rebecca Leake (Mike), and Roberta Shain (Jason). She was a proud grandmother to Emily Tubbs (Chris), Andrew Stanley, and Timmy Russell, and a cherished great-grandmother to Daniel Tubbs and Isaac Tubbs. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Arnold and Special family friends Dave and Terry Shain.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Horner Hill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
The family would like to thank the OSU nurses, PCA’s and Dr. Josh Norman for their extraordinary care of Mrs. Napper.
Lena will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends.
