Mary Rae Moore

Mary Rae Moore, 91, from Middleport, OH; went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25th, 2023 in Louisville, KY. She was born June 11, 1932 in Warren, OH to the late Guy and Freida Russell. Mrs. Moore was passionate about her family and community. In her professional life, she had a degree in Business and Accounting, was a partner at a factory, and an accountant and manager. She also served at Farmers Bank on the proxy committee. She served her community that she loved in several ways. Mrs. Moore was a Council Member for the Village in Middleport, and she served on the finance committee. She played an active role in serving on committees and boards for her church, community library, Meigs county Senior Citizen programs, and Meigs County Cancer task force. Mrs. Moore dedicated her life to serving others and preserving history. For several years she held office in the DAR and served in the OH Historical Society. Due to her avid research in the community and family, Mrs. Moore was an expert in genealogy and history. She opened her home to many and educated her community.

She is survived by her son Mitchel (Rita) Millard and daughter-in-law Connie Millard (Rick Millard). She has 5 grandchildren: Kristie (Brad) Koehler, Jennifer (Frank) Felice, Sarah (Jared) Busby, Audrey (Jacob) Bennett, and Michael Millard. She has 5 great-grandchildren: Morgan and Mia Felice, Aiden Koehler, and Asher and Finley Bennett.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Rick Millard. She shared her life with Ronald Reynolds (married in 1959), Ferman Moore (married in 1999), and Lawrence Foreman (married in 2012) .

Services will be held at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, OH on 264 South Second Avenue. The visitation will be Sunday, October 1st, 2023 from 12-2 pm with the funeral services to follow at 2 pm. Deron Newman will be officiating. The burial will be at Gilmore Cemetery. In honor of Mary Rae Moore, expressions of sympathy may be sent to the funeral home.
