Ralph Dennis Jones, Sr., age 78, passed away at the Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio on January 14, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1947, in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Margaret Long, and his brothers Phillip Lee, Charles Lee, Larry Long, and Samuel Long; special friend, Sherry Fellure; great niece, Kaylee Grace Long; son-in-law, Randall Amos Moore; nephew, Chris Hutchins and cousin Karen Rucker Beloved fur babies Saydee and Little Joe (Joey)
He is survived by his children Denise (Mark) Edge, Dianne Moore, Dennis (Miriah) Jones, and Denessa Stewart.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Tiffany (Adam) Jagers, Natalia (Levi) Stroop, Hanna (Garrett) Cundiff, Alex Edge, Randy Moore Jr., Kamri Estep, Lukas Gardner, Troy Hahn, and Damiahna Jones; and his great-grandchildren Henry Jagers and Jameson Cundiff; sister, Ella Hutchins and the mothers of his children are Shirley McDaniels and Brenda Doerfer
Ralph was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving 16 years, including service during the Vietnam War as a member of the Sea Bees. He later worked as a security guard at Criss Craft, he was a Truck Driver at United Van Lines and a nursing assistant at GDC in Gallipolis. He also later worked at the VA psych ward in Chillicothe. He also loved wrestling and old westerns.
Ralph was an avid Bengals fan and actively involved in a variety of sports in his lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to USO, Autism Awareness, American Legion, VFW, American Heart Association, or Veterans in Transition, Inc.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6-8:00pm at the funeral home. Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will follow in the Meigs Memory Gardens. Friends and family may gather afterwards at the Syracuse Community Center for food.
