Ray Lambert

Surrounded by his loving family, Ray Lambert, left his earthly home and entered into eternal glory on Monday, April 13, 2026at his home in Rutland.

Ray was born December 20,1937 in Kenova, West Virginia to the late Raymond and Lucille Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Doug (Shirley) Lambert, Mary Lambert, David Lambert, Patty Harmon and Jennie (Charles) Wlliamson.

Ray married the love of his life, Juanita, “Sweetie” Lambert on September 3, 1960. Together they had four sons and a daughterwho survive: Steve (Kelly) Lambert, Denise Lambert, David Lambert, Shawn (Cindy) Lambert and Adam (Larissa Hood) Lambert. In addition, Ray is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Jacob (Brianna) Lambert, Meghan (Casey) Harrison, Clinton Lambert, Austin Lambert, Brianan Butcher, Logan and Aubree Cundiff, Hadalee Lambert, Faith and Delayne Harrison, Jaxon Lambert and Riley Hood as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ray served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1956-1958. After leaving the corp, he became owner and operator of Ohio Dust and Ventilation and later, Rutland Mine Supply. After his retirement, he opened Ray’s Hunting Supply in Rutland, which he owned and operated for several years. Through the years, many of Ray’s friends would gather at his shop and trade stories about their great hunting adventures and Ray, who loved to coon hunt would share stories of his own. Ray was known to be an avid coon hunter and a houndsman at heart.

Services for Ray will be held Friday, April 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Visitation with family will take place from 11:00 until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Wells Cemetery.
