Richard Lee Hubbard, 66, passed away on November 19, 2025. Born on August 17, 1959, Richard grew up in Syracuse, Ohio, where he formed many lifelong friendships and developed a deep love for music—especially the songs of Neil Young. A talented drummer, music remained a constant passion throughout his life.
Richard attended Southern High School. He played both basketball and baseball as a child in Syracuse and up through Jr. High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Paris Island in South Carolina, specializing in the maintenance and training of rifle operations. His service later took him to Camp Pendelton and the Marine base in Puerto Rico, as well as Camp Lejeune and Fort Bragg. He obtained the rank of Lance Corporal.
Richard is survived by his sisters Angela Hubbard, Robin Hubbard, and Rosemary (Mark) Pierce; his brother James (Susie) Holter; his stepfather Roger (Nancy) Holter; his stepmother Edie Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Workman Holter; his father Larry R. Hubbard; his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Hubbard; and his nephews Casey Hubbard and Jordan Pierce.
A service to honor Richard’s life will be announced at a later date.
