Richard "Mike" Young

Richard “Mike” Michael Young, 72, of Pomeroy Ohio passed away on October 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on Saturday, June 28, 1952 in Pomeroy to the late George and Patricia (Jesse) Young.

Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years Linda Young, daughter Stacey (John) Brickles: son Patrick (Tammy) Young; grandchildren, Andrew (Molly) Young, Justin Young (Savannah Mozingo), Nicole (Shawn) Sayre, Chris (Chelsie) Young, Torrie Epling (Tucker Mayes), Trinity Epling, and Tanner Epling; great grandchildren, Ivy, Tillie, Ari, Teller, Maylee; brother, Edward (Malea) Young and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Hudson Sayre

Mike was a retired from the Carpenters Union #650 of Pomeroy, worked at the John Amos Plant, and Kings Ace Hardware of Middleport, Ohio for many years. Mike served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a member of the Masons, Pomeroy/Racine Lodge as well as a member of the North Bend Church in Mason West Virginia Mike loved hunting and fishing, visiting the Hocking Hills and most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities A special Thank You to the Holzer Hospice, Holzer Cancer Center, and Cleveland Clinic.

Funeral service will be held at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, Pomeroy Ohio on Monday November 4th at 1:00PM, Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. With Burial at the Meigs Memory Gardens in Pomeroy, Ohio to Follow. Pastor Jason Simpkins will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mike's name, to the Holzer Cancer Center or the Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland, Ohio or Holzer Hospice.
