Robert "Robby" Jones

Robert Joseph Jones (Robby), 48 of Shade, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at his home. Born January 8, 1977 in Gallipolis, he was a Meigs county resident his whole life and attended Meigs local schools.

He worked excavation for and with his father for many years. He was a skilled laborer and a very hard worker. He helped fix and maintain the heavy equipment and the company thrived. Apart from working, cutting timber and logging, Robby enjoyed the country life of hunting, fishing, buggy racing, arm wrestling, and spending time with his friends and his dogs. He raised and trained several coon hunting dogs and would often win in the coon hunting competitions. He absolutely loved dogs and always had one at his side.

He is survived by his mother Kimberly; two children, Darian and David Jones; two grandsons, Gavin and Greyson. Brother to Alison Jones and Amy & George Sheffer. He had 3 nieces, and 5 nephews and a lifelong friend Jeremy Shockey.

Robby is preceded in death by his father Robert Allen Jones.

A memorial service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, with Pastor Jonn Swanson officiating.  A gathering following the service will be held for family and friends at the Albany Amvets post 93 at 1 pm.
