Roberta Francis Maidens

Roberta Francis (Kraeuter) Maidens, 80, of Syracuse, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Holzer Meigs Emergency Room. She was born August 24, 1945, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Eldon and Lucille (Byers) Kraeuter.

Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked as a teacher and dedicated much of her life to education. Her family was an important part of her life, and she will be lovingly remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale Maidens; her son, Colin (Linda) Maidens, her daughter, Christi (Petie) Hendrix, her granddaughter, Celestia (Austin) Barton, her grandsons, Brandon Maidens and Jacob (Santana) Maidens, her great-grandchildren, Wade Dale Barton, Leala and Isaac Maidens.

She is also survived by her niece, Laren (Clayton) Shain, nephews, Mark (Meghan) Maidens, and Kent (Kim) Wolfe, along with other extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her sisters, Leda Mae Kraeuter and Dolores (Kraeuter) Wolfe and her husband, Larry.

In accordance with Roberta’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or public viewing. Cremation will take place, and a basic obituary will be published to announce her passing.

Roberta’s family will remember her privately and cherish the many memories they shared with her.
