Roland Lee Wise

Roland Lee Wise, 89, passed away September 30, 2025 at Abbieshire Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. 
Born August 8th 1936 to the late William (Jake) and Sarah Margert (Farley) Wise.
Roland is Survived his beloved wife of 68 years. ( Etta) Joann (Gilmore) they married on September 12, 1957.
In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by a Son Sidney Roland Wise.  Sisters Hilda McDaniel, Thelma Jean Danner and Carol Hayman.
Survived by Daughters Etta (Sis) Wise and Rebecca (Greg) Stewart. Grandchildren Heather (Jeff) White, Jessica Smith, Brian Durham Jr (Kayla Adams) Cassandra Durham (Zach Priddy).
Great Grandchildren Ella Smith, Malakai Durham,  Case Smith, Hunter White, Sophia and Lilli Durham.

Roland worked as a coalminer from the time he was a young man, since his youth he was an avid Hunter and Trader, known for his gift of telling lively & often humorous hunting stories of days gone by. He enjoyed gardening, running coon dogs and rabbit dogs and tending to his cows. Above all he was a loving and devoted family man, he cherished his family, supported them through challenges, and instilled his values in them. His unconditional love and unwavering support were the foundation of our family, a legacy that will continue to inspire and lead us. 

Funeral services will be held Friday October 03, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Theron Durham officiating.   Visitation for family and friend will be held to hours prior to the funeral service.    Burial will follow at the Meigs Memory Gardens.
