Ronald Clair Cozart, 75, of Racine, Ohio passed away, at his home, July 20, 2026. He was being treated for cancer the last few years.
He was born in Pomeroy, Ohio on May 9, 1951, to Roscoe and Gertrude (Paranish) Cozart.
Having earned a master's degree in Fine Arts, he was a talented painter. He was also a heavy equipment operator, like his father. Ron was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for over 30 years, achieving lifetime member status.
He was also a talented musician. He played guitar and harmonica and liked to sing. He played music with family and friends. As a lifelong reader, Ron read many different genres and almost always had a book he was reading through.
Ron is survived by his older brothers John Wesley and Edward Michael Cozart, his two sons Ryan and Mark Cozart, a granddaughter Reise Cozart, many nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and nephews, and former spouse Robin Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Charles Robert Cozart, Robert Roscoe Cozart, Lois Marie Cozart, Wilma Rae Smith(Cozart), Paul Thomas Cozart, Chrystal Elaine Cozart, a grandson Kyran, and former spouse Linda Cozart(Warner).
A memorial will be held for Ron, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio, on August 5, from 5-7 pm.
