Ronald "Ron" Keith Cowan, 75 passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born on August 26, 1949 in Huntington West Virginia to the late Guy and Betty Cowan.
Ron graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1967. From there he enlisted in the Army from 1967 to 1971. Ron worked for the AEP River Division from 1974 to 2003 becoming the supervising Port Engineer for the entire division. After retiring from AEP Ron took a position as a Chief Engineer with Marathon Transportation until his second retirement in 2011.
Ron had many friends and was an active member of the Mason VFW #9926 and the Pomeroy Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2171.
Ron loved his family, his friends, and his pets and will always be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and sense of humor- and of course “his-love-of-a-good-time.” Always in our Hearts
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judi Cowan; son; Ryan (Larry) Cowan; sister-in-law, Marybeth (Vaughan) Mitchell and several nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Sam Cowan; sister, Sheila (Mike) Miller
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2-4:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
