Samantha "Sam" Jane Lavender

Samantha “Sam” Jane (Pearson) Lavender, 56 of Pomeroy, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2025.

She was born January 8, 1969in Point Pleasant WV. The daughter of the late Gilbert and Joyce (McDermitt) Pearson.

She graduated from Wahama High School in 1987, she worked at Ohio Health in Athens , Ohio for 13 Years where she worked in various departments. Since 2019 she has worked with orthopedics as a BWC specialist.

Sam loved spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed traveling and visiting every state except two. On Sundays you could find here at home with her dogs, Sadie and Ladybug watching the Pittsburg Steelers play.

Sam is survived by her son Mike Lavender of Middleport, Ohio grand daughter Josalyn Lavender of Portland, Ohio, brother Rick (Desra) Pearson of Mason WV, Rocky Pearson of West Columbia, WV, sister Kathy Voshel of Williamstown, WV along with many nieces and nephews. A lifelong partner Jimmy Joe Hemsley of Pomeroy, Ohio, his son Joe Bob Hemsley of Jackson, Ohio, his daughter Karen Fares of Germantown, Ohio, along with four grand-children and one great-grandchild.

Special friends include Josh Rollman and son Dakota, Ty Little, April Fraley and daughter Abagail.

Services will be held at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM, Visitation will be two hours prior from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM
