Shirley Ann Cogar, 80, passed away on December 21, 2024, at OSU Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the widow of the late William Cogar Sr. They shared 58 years of marriage together.
Born in Rocksprings, OH, she was the daughter of Alvah W. Heilmann and Phyllis M. Kesterson. She accomplished 50+ years of service with the Girl Scouts. She had many hobbies and was the second mom and Nana to many people.
She is survived by her children: William Jr, Shari (Allen), and Kimberly (Mike). Her grandchildren, Nicole (Cameron), Tim (Christa), JoAuana, Chris, Ericka (Mike), Kayla, Michael Jr., Brittany(Jeff), Gage (Cara), Breanna and several great grandchildren. Her brother Jerry (Cindy). She had several nieces, nephews, and sisters in laws. She has only two cousins, Kevin Keterson and Dale Keterson. Special family members Roger(Diana), Les (Rhonda), Loretta(JR), and a special childhood friend Viola (Peggy) Shoemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brothers William and Johnny.
The viewing will be held on December 27th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anderson Mcdaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Oh. Funeral service on December 28th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Anderson Mcdaniel Funeral Home, followed by Graveside Services at The Cogar Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Cogar Jr. Mike Barrett Sr., Mike Bonnett, Michael Barrett Jr., Tim Cogar, and Chris Cogar.
